Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I used hip waders for both crossings of the Swift (Sawyer Pond and Church Pond). Both involved knee deep wading. I don't recommend my route between the peaks as I was too low and had to work around some swampy areas and crossings.

Comments
Comments: Snow off trail was about 4-8 in. powder; I used snowshoes. Sawyer Pond tr. had some bareboat traffic, Church pond did not. I bushwhacked up the southeast ridge on Birch hill then cut over towards Sugar Hill, staying too low and having to fight through some swamps. I climbed Sugar steeply from the northeast. I took the ski trail to Church Pond trail and a side trip to the viewpoint.
