Parked in the lot at the end of the Franconia bike trail. Only car when we arrived around 10:30. About 6-7 cars when we left at 2:30. |

Hiked the Skookumchuck trail as far as the brook then headed into the woods staying above the brook. Shortly after passing the wooden bridge further up the brook, we saw some faint footprints which we were able to follow up the mountain all the way to the jar. This made for a nice, moderate climb until the last section when the terrain steepens for the final ascent up to the summit. Beautiful sunny day once it came out about 1/2 way up, no wind and snow depth at the deepest about 6". |
