| Water Crossing Notes: |
We went past the third crossing following a herd path as mentioned on Dec 30 by Dave. We were able to cross easily following this path. No trees were needed for assistance. It is less than a 10th of a mile. The actual water crossing was easily hopable this way. Walk on the frozen part of the river with caution. The ice is thin. My husband jumped from a rock. and went through. We followed the short bushwack up to the Twin trail. That was a little rough. |

| Comments: |
There is just barely enough snow with many rocks sticking out. We barebooted until the river crossing then used spikes. About a mile from the summit there is not really a monorail, more like a path and with snow that was not consolidated. Very little ice. We put on snowshoes at the summit of North Twin and used them over the ridge to South and back. The trail could really use some packing down. |
