||Greeley Ponds Trail, Mt. Osceola Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Monday, January 11, 2021|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
||Light Traction |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||Two medium frozen, several tiny open streams were very shallow |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||All clear, great work! |
|Lost and Found:
||The weekend butt sliders had polished the steep parts, so descending E Osceola to Greeley Ponds Trail was tricky in sharp Hillsound Trail Crampons. Up in MicroSpikes was okay. Down in partial or full crampons would have been safer.|
The Chimney didn't have quite enough snow for me to attempt it, but now I regret not trying it in Hillsounds.
Trail towards Tripoli Road looked tracked.
