Comments
Comments: Conditions haven't changed much over the last week, or so. Footing is ideal for spikes throughout. The packed Black Pond bushwhack follows the circuitous route previously reported, somehow managing to be uphill in both directions. The Brutus bushwhack splits partway up where people butt slid down and others followed that track thereafter. There is so little snow that the straight up route is causing some erosion and wouldn't be a pleasant glissade. Soon to change, let's hope!
Fun hike with Chris, Renee, Sarah and Michael, seeing only three other hikers. Sarah completed her W48 second round! The river and woods are lovely but there wasn't much else going on scenically on this overcast day.
