Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: water crossings were all fine.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: bunnell notch could use some new bog bridges/rock hardening to squelch the widening mud pits in spots. cleared a number of blowdowns, but did not tackle the four large blowdowns (in succession) shortly above the cabin that are blocking the trail forcing re-routes. they were a bit more than my folding saw could handle with the time i had.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: bugs not bad on the way in and pretty much non-existent higher up. a bit annoying in the lower section of bunnell notch trail on the descent.

Comments
Comments: some wet and mud on bunnell notch trail where it follows old road and up through the lower notch. grass along trail grown in pretty good in spots so plan on getting wet if hiking in after some rain.

nice day to wrap up my june grid. pretty muggy. made my first trip to the cabot talus field. almost bushwacked right under it on the way in, but found a nice short route back to the trail on the return. the talus field was surprisingly expansive with great views. a nice spot. was good to see mark and val in the morning. great day to be out.
