We were able to park at a pull-off at the end of the plowed portion of Carriage Road at Breezy Point. It was only about 1/4 mile from the trailhead. |

A last minute change of mind had us hiking up the Carriage Road and making South Peak our goal for the day instead of hiking the Glencliff trail to the summit.It's been years since we went to South Peak and on this beautiful day, it appealed to us. The trail was in very good shape - well broken out and smooth sailing to the junction with the spur trail. A non-snowshoer had unfortunately taken the spur trail and post-holed it, but it wasn't too bad. There were some new post-holes coming down the Carriage Trail but again, not too bad. A beautiful sunny and windless day. |
