Comments
Comments: Old Mountain Road had 2-3" of new snow from the storm and unfortunately some damage from barebooters yesterday.

Crawford Ridgepole was an absolute mess from barebooters, who were pushing through vegetation on the side of the trail to try to avoid the deep drifts. This is one of the ways we get trail creep (and subsequent erosion) on trails. The ridge had 1-2 feet of new snow from the drifting. In places where the postholers couldn't get around the drifts, they were going up to their knees. I did my best to correct this, but it is still messy. PLEASE WEAR SNOWSHOES.

Also noted chainsaw activity on the summit. Appears they were cutting down dead trees at the vista and in the woods just north of it.
