Took a quick hike up the Wapack to the summit. The trail had not been broken out. About 12 inches of snow under a breakable crust. I used snowshoes but I probably could have booted it just as easily. The icy crust made for less than ideal snowshoe coditions. There isn't enough snow yet to smooth out the rocks and ledges. Took the auto road down. It has been broken out; mostly by boots. The trail to North Pack hadn't been broken out. |
