 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Access road is open. (Baker Road.) It's a very small parking lot, but I was the first car there at 9 AM! I'm not sure the lot ever filled up, perhaps because despite being a weekend day, today was overcast and cold. |

What a wonderful trail. The switchbacks make the ascent a quick one, despite the steepness of the mountain. There was only one spot that was so steep we had some trouble getting down (loose snow), and even that wasn't serious trouble. The trail was well packed, but we were still glad to have our snowshoes; it has been so cold that the trail, while stable, is still a little fluffy. That said, you probably would not *need* snowshoes to do this hike, and we saw other hikers in spikes.
Summit was cold and windy; we snapped a few photos and hastily descended. It took us about 2h to get up and 1h to get back down to the car; we left by noon. |
