Great hike. The snow was firm on the way up, cold temps and low wind. The trail was packed out but wore snowshoes for extra grip, flotation, and the heel lifts. It was borderline warm at LoTC. Switched to crampons for Monroe and kept them on the rest of the day. People were successful at Washington with both snowshoes and light traction. ONly time I was especially glad for the crampons were on a tricky section up Monroe. Crampons also helped with traction on the descent after some sledding smoothed things out. |
