 | Comments: |
Snowshoes with televators were used to break trail on about four inches of new snow. My MSRs did fine, but my friend's TUBBS were causing some sliding on the way down and she switched to crampons, which she found more helpful. I recommend having both.
We saw no one on the way up, and passed ten people on the way down, two with snowshoes and the rest with traction-mostly crampons.
Just before the hut, we turned back, as the visibility was poor and getting worse, and the winds were increasing. I have done this hike several times but it just wasn't worth the risk to continue. |
