Comments
Comments: Cold and windy start. The plan was to figure-8 Bennett, Flat Pond, and Gleason while summiting Sandwich Dome. A light layer of powder covered a crust from prior snowfall. Earlier in the morning, temps were cold enough to retain the integrity of the subsurface crust, and microspikes were fine. As temps rose, the crust gave way and snowshoes were a better option. Along the lower half of Bennett St trail by the falls, my microspike broke (they're old) and so I bailed on the summit as the trail was completely unbroken and upper conditions unknown.
