Comments
Comments: Watch out for snowmobilers on the road walk! I barebooted from the trailhead on 302 at the gate to where the climb up Signal Ridge begins about 0.1 above the upper jct of the old and new trail routes. Saw 5 other people, all in snowshoes for the ridge and a couple with them on down low so trail is in good shape. The sections of the old trail are broken out simply cuz less elevation/distance. Trail required minimal breaking which was nice as I was in trail runners as I forgot to grab my boots this morning. Trail runners and snowshoes sure is an interesting combo and at wet as the snow was I only needed to swap socks once. Definitely a little monorail like in the sense that a step off trail resulted in immediate postholing.
