Comments
Comments: All kinds of conditions today. Ammo until Gem Pool hard packed, thou very narrow along river in spots. Unconsolidated powder on the steeps made worse by bare-booting. Chopped up in many places. Once above treeline hard packed ice. Up to Monroe was also hard-packed ice. Crawford Path was solid ice with some breakable crust until summit. I switched to Hillsounds after 1/4 mile. Trinity Heights & Gulfside were both hard-packed ice with some post holes. Upper Jewell is an absolute mess with lots of post holes.4 in front of me in micros trashed the trail. I put my snow shoes back on once in the scrubs but the damage is done. Once I passed both groups trail was perfect but I'm sure its a mess now as well. Lots out today, most in just spikes. Snow shoes are needed to fix both Ammo & Jewell. Beautiful day to be out, mild temps lite winds. Congrats to 3 finishing their 48! 1 on Monroe, 2 on Washington.
