I had planned to hike roberts but got to the castle in the clouds lot a little before 930 and it was already full. ample parking at shannon brook trailhead for turtleback |

Lots of snowmobiles on bald knob trail. put on my snowshoes so that i could step aside quickly. was glad i had them for turtleback mountain trail, since it wasnt broken out (although there was a depression in the snow/you could see where the trail was easily), although saw another hiker getting along fine with spikes. wasnt enough snow out there for serious postholing. |
