Blazes along West Ledges need refreshing. There were 2 spots where there were 2 brokenout paths and no blazes to indicate which way was correct. W/O GPS we would've just guessed. Heading down from West Ledges 1 waist high "step over" and 2 small leaners. |

Beautiful day to be out on this trail. Did the loop counter clockwise. Great views of Washington in and out of the trees. Trail is nicely packed but that will change in the warmer temps. As we were heading over West Ledges my hiking partner started to randomly post hole. Better him than me :) The sun was beating down on that section so I suspect in the next few days the solid snow pack is going to lose stability in exposed areas. As mentioned in Trail Maintenance, blazes along the Ledges were sparse, and with a couple of divergent paths it could've been a mess without the aid of GPS. Stay the path of along the ledge and you'll eventually find a yellow blaze. All in all, a fun adventurous loop trail. |
