it was a spectacular day. temps were great and there was little to no wind. trails were packed. I was able to bareboot to within a half mile of hut then switched to snowshoes for rest of the hike. The snow did soften as the day went on so snowshoes seemed best although I did see four with spikes (one only doing zealand and was on way back and three doing traverse from lincoln side). Everyone else were in shoes. As the tictac man and patches report noted there are no drifts and its basically a highway right now. No issues with locating trail. Thanks to all for the congratulations on finishing my winter 48. It was great chatting with everyone. It did make for a longer hike as I did chat with everyone but it also made for a memorable hike/finish. Good luck to those still working on completing their list(s). For me, on to the next list (four season, redline...). enjoy the journey... |
