Driving note for folks unaware - Frost heaves added time to the drive today. My car isnt super high clearance. 3 other cars in addition to our 2 when we started, 6 other cars in the lot when we got back. The map/L&F kiosk was sitting in a puddle. |

only saw an empty can left in the L&F |

The snow was deep and soft. Everyone else had snowshoes. The trail was soft and I made an effort to stick close to the center of the crusted portion of trail. When my steps were too wide or far off center, the crusted snow wasn't well supported. Hiking partner took their snowshoes off for a moment at the walden outlook and the snow was soft, post holed.
