Comments
Comments: Conditions on Carter Dome are not that bad. There are many postholes from last week's meltdown, but they've refrozen and are avoidable. Only just by the trailhead is the trail icy and slippery. I went up the Carter Dome Trail, knocked Carter Dome off my winter list, and then went back over Mt. Hight to Zeta Pass, and I recommend that route. The very top of Hight is exposed to the wind, but the way back down is the only good butt-sliding the whole way!
