Comments
Comments: Quinttown Road is a snowmobile trail in winter so was packed down pretty well, especially on the way up when it was still cold out. Followed the road up to where a second snowmobile trail took a right towards Long Pond and Lampier Hill. At the junction with Corridor 5, we followed the snowmobile trail to the north, or right, continuing to a height of land almost parallel with the summit and where the snowmobile trail started to descend. We headed into the woods, still wearing our Hillsounds but didn't make it more than about 300 yards when the surface would no longer support us. On went the snowshoes and we continued to the summit, barely leaving any tracks! Summit had a jar, last hiker was here in January. Made our way back down to the snowmobile trail, changed from snowshoes to Hillsounds and made our way back to the car. The surface at this point was starting to get a little soft but only about 1-2" deep.
