Comments
Comments: Total blue sky day, constant sun, terrific day!. Semi-constant flow of hikers. Clear views 360 over to Bonds, Presies, Vt's peaks and on. Gusty NW Wind made it difficult to stop to have tea until Haystack, Poles helpful to maintain balance. Trails mostly crusty through mid-day, then softening some on lower FW by late afternoon, when softening made for slippery footing. Along the Ridge, about 50/50 crusty snow and bare rock. We did microspikes all day, but expect snowshoes from 21st on.
[Despite a fine day, saw several young people poorly equipped if they had a mishap.]
Kestrel data: T=30F W=30-40mph WC= 0F.
