Great day for a hike. Microspikes were effective. Reviewer who said "hot mess" was right--lots of post-holes. There is a (very) icy patch at the 1/2 point on Winslow trail (painted 1/2 in red on the rocks). We bushwhacked around but it was somewhat challenging. If you are nervous about ice, would recommend going up and down Barlow, which was easy. Overall, perfect bluebird weather and great views of Mt. Washington--clear and beautiful. Around 15 other people on trail (started just after 9am). |
