Comments
Comments: We took the Centennial trail to ascend Mt. Hayes. We continued on the Mahoosuc trail to the open ledges to enjoy the views. There are no views on the summit. Since we had a car spot we continued along the Mahoosuc trail to descend to our car spot. It was confusing to get back to Route 16. The lower half is a mixture of slush and leaves/bare ground. Spikes were needed until the snow depth increased half way up. Still lots of deep snow. Without snow shoes, post holing will happen since the snow is so soft.
