Stream at start was avoided by crossing bridge on rte 49, and bushwhacking back to trail. The other crossings were fine. |

No dogs seen. Wouldn't recommend bringing one. |

Sandwich Mountain Trail up, Smarts Brook down
Be prepared to posthole most of the hike. Both trails were beat up. Started with spikes, then switched to snowshoes. Nothing prevented post-holeing. It was a back n forth switch between traction. In short, I would not recommend doing this hike moving forward, until everything is melted! |
