 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Several blow downs all throughout the section I did, most notably a large one just north of Green Woods Road, and then another near at Pouting Pig Rock. There were lots more, but I did not keep track. Sorry. Blazing is generally good, but can sometimes be a little hard to see the next. |

I out & back hiked the southernmost seven miles of the M-M Trail in NH, turning around at a trail junction in Widow Gage Town Forest. The piece south of Green Woods Road is the highlight, and then the piece north of the Dry-shod Bypass Trail (which sees even less use than the M-M) was also pretty nice. In between was a lot of road walking - old forest roads, logging paths, dirt roads, paved roads, and a brief stretch of NH 119. If that's your thing, then get after it. On the plus side, I saw no other hikers and very little sign that anyone had been there before, and there was no snow or ice. The old road off Old County Road is shared with ATVs and was a real mud pit. |
