 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Cascade Path: Cascade Brook: tricky, but narrow and wasn't bad rock hopping with waterproof shoes and crouching/using my hands. Would not recommend with dogs. Easy enough to avoid this crossing & still hit east and west sides (using Livermore Rd)... so it's not a deal breaker.
Norway Rapids/Slide Brook: Slightly sketchy hands & knees crawl across a log... There might have been another way to cross if I had scouted more, but I went for the log. Not ideal.
Boulder Path/Cascade Brook: Took off shoes and waded through nice icy water. Nice steady deep breathing got me through. Was up to my lower-thighs in one small spot (I'm 5'10"), but wasn't too swift, so it was just the cold to contend with. Wouldn't recommend for everyone. Didn't scout other ways, but my dog couldn't have gone the way I did. |

The three river crossings would not have been for my dog. Otherwise was fine. |

Had so much fun with this little loop on a lovely sunny day! Switched from bare boot to spikes back and forth a bunch, but conditions really weren't bad at all. Had spikes on probably the majority of the time for ice. The waterfalls were gorgeous! River crossings were tricky but doable for me (see water notes). |
