Quick summit hike from Baker Rd. Temps were in the 40s. Trail was muddy at the bottom, with sections of ice as we climbed higher. We brought micro spikes and never used them (saw one woman who WAS wearing them). Patches of ice were obvious and mostly avoidable by staying on rocks. There were a few sketchy spots, but we simply took our time. If you aren’t sure-footed I’d wait until the ice melts a little more. We hiked in trail runners. Warmer afternoons are probably very muddy, even towards the top (it was snow for us, in the morning). Trail conditions will probably change pretty dramatically based on time of day and temperature. |
