Comments
Comments: SO WELL BLAZED! Yellow blazes were plenty and bright. Evidence of Moose scat in one section of the trail peeking out just beneath the fresh snow. And LOTS of animal tracks- both teeny to very large. One of the children named this trail "The Snow Eater Trail!" For anyone climbing this peak tomorrow- sorry! The children ate it (haha). Lots of fresh snow and it was beautiful! Of course there were a few bare spots under a few trees, but, mainly fully snow covered. TRACTION: one could climb this peak without any supplemental traction, but would be a little slippery of course in the two steeper sections, but certainly manageable- just more of a workout. The ground is softer on top so microspikes easily grab through the soft, sticky wet snow.
