Thanks to Rocket21 posting a trip report here yesterday, our minds were made up to hit up these peaks today. Full winter conditions, loved having the snow to ascend the south slide with snowshoes. We are big fans of heel lifts and today was perfect for using them. Trail was rough broke and I think we improved on the track heading up south. Don’t know how long it will last so get done soon. When we hit the junction with Kate Sleeper trail , the postholes appeared and really made a sad mess of things all the way to middle Tripyramid. After that it was obvious many had been up to the Tripyramids via Pine Bend and even Scaur. Trail was hard packed and there was much rejoicing:). Trip down Scaur was easy going as the long Livermore road walk too. Great hike! |
