 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Large, excellent lot. Serves as parking for the Downes Brook and Potash Trails as well. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

 | Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Lots of small ones, no big deal |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Excellent, good signage. However, work awaits the maintenance volunteers on the East side of the loop. There is a large, multibranched blow down there. Thanks for your work, there is evidence of lots of blow down removal along this trail from previous ones. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Dog families using this trail are to be commended. All the dogs (and there were many) we saw today were well-behaved with both people and animals. And no baggies left on the side of the trail! Watch out for ledges if you bring your dog. |
|
 | Bugs: |
2 butterflies, one spider strand crossing the trail. |

 | Comments: |
Do not let the crowded parking lot dissuade you from this hike. It serves two other trails as well. We did not see as many people as one would expect. a variety of folks enjoying this trail.
We did it clockwise, enjoying a leisurely rest on the eastern ledges. Great views of Chocorua, the Sisters, Passaconaway, etc. Good choice for a sunny windy day, lots of open ledges protected by trees. |
