Comments
Comments: Mix of spring conditions, lots of mud and slush at lower elevations and mostly packed snow at higher elevations. Put on spikes around 3400 ft and kept them on until near the summit. Entire Gorge Brook trail was stable. Carriage Road between the summit and South Peak was less packed with some new snow and drifts, but no major postholing even with bare boots. After turning down Carriage Road off the AT there was little snow on the trail, turned to lots of mud near the bottom.
