Comments
Comments: Started at South Moat trailhead off of Passaconaway Rd. Proceeded to North Moat and returned on same trail. H53 L40 at base, wind speed up to 25mph at peaks. Ascent to South Moat is well protected from wind. Middle Moat to North Moat is well protected from wind by trees. Slick rocks on ascent to South Moat. No snow encountered. Few locations, had heavy mud or standing water. Plenty of streams running down the trail which made rock scrambles slick. Met plenty of dogs between South Moat and the Parking lot. Recommend rubber tips on Hiking poles as a good amount of the trail is on rock. Go Books, Go Bears!
