Peaks
Peaks Mt. Israel, NH
Trails
Trails: Wentworth Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, May 9, 2021
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I think we may have taken the last of 2 spots in the lot at 0930... if only people could have parked a teeny bit tighter ;-)
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: several very tiny streams- all walk-over type and a couple had rocks strategically placed ... especially for the little legs ;-)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 3 or 4 big blow downs- one of them was already axed (it had been a while) to form a nice little hop over/through and the other(s) easily walk under
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: we did not see any dogs on the Wentworth trail- I'm sure that a four-legged friend could easily out hike me on this one ... even the "scramble" section ;-)
Bugs
Bugs: OMGOSH YES! They were out in abundance and totally TOOK ADVANTAGE OF US (lol) when we stopped to break. In all seriousness, the only section that really bothered us (black flies) was the section of trail that paralleled the brook. And truly not in any other section of the trail (for us).
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: Even though the sun gave way to clouds... it was enjoyable. The VIEWS at the true summit: wow! We sat in silence (out of the wind) eating a late lunch in awe. I imagine the Fall foliage viewing is AHHHHMAZING!
