I saw one trail runner, dressed in all red on this hike (if you're reading this, hello!), but otherwise I had this trail all to myself. Everything was mostly dry, with a few muddy spots in the boggy area--but there is a lot of leaf build up which can be slippery even when not wet. I spent some time at Chapel Rock and then made my way over to the true summit and stopped at all the view points along the way. I had clear views of the Presidential and Carter ranges even though the sun wasn't really out.
My main reason for posting: ***Chapel Rock will be off-limits to hikers from June 1-August 31, as it is every year.***
Many thanks to the Horton Center for letting us all enjoy the view outside their camp season! |
