All trails had recent evidence of blowdowns being cleared. We removed one blowdown on Martha's Mile and another on Cherry Mountain Trail. There still is a chainsaw sized blowdown on Martha's Mile that one has to get over. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Would be generally excellent except two spots ascending Owl’s Head on Martha’s Mile. Saw 3 dogs. Friendly dogs are part of hiking’s great momentary distractions from physical exertion. |

 | Bugs: |
In the morning with a breeze black flies were not an issue. On our return, with the breeze gone, the black flies were swarming when stopping. That said, did not feed a need to apply bug spray since they were not biting. |

Great day hike. 11am departure, 430pm return. 45 min spent with breaks/lunching. Many people enjoying the hike in a responsible/friendly manner. Some steep portions for a small-looking mountain. Overall great hike for novice/intermediates. |
