The Gulch is mostly clear of snow with the exception of the last 1/4 of mile before you reach the cook path. This place is definitely "as advertised" jagged rocks and bouldering in the first section where the sun hits it, moss and slick rock on the last 2/3 where it gets no sun. Definitely a fun day but take your time. I brought golf gloves for hand holds. I would not bother with poles for this hike, you'll need your hands to keep three anchors on the surface as much as possible. |
