Comments
Comments: Headed down the continuation of the park road and through the gate until the junction with Bear Pond Loop and Five Summers. Five Summers was pretty much woods road and/or snowmobile trail most of the way. Grassy but we only picked up one tick! Last .1-.2 miles was a trail up to the junction with the Greenway. Moderate all the way. Headed south on the Greenway for about 1 mile. We had realized that the trail must have been re-routed as it began to differ from the trail on Gaia. Cut into the woods heading for the peak and came across the former privy (door now off). Continued a short ways further and came upon a trail which lead up to the shelter. Further along we came to a new moldering privy so the shelter must still be used. Continued bushwhacking towards the summit through fairly open woods. At the top there were multiple bumps. Finally found the highest which had a yellow string but no jar. We hung a new one next to the yellow string. Took a heading towards the Five Summers trail. Nice open woods all the way, coming out where the snowmobile trail turned right up the hill so we missed all the more rugged trail that exists from there to the junction. Followed Five Summers back to our car. A redline and a 500 highest: good day!
