Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One small duck under blowdown on CHC just north of the old winter recreation area. The SPC connector is a bit over-blazed in my opinion. There are many spots where the blazes are bunched up close together.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Carry all the water you'll need. This route is pretty arid right now.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies seem to be gone, replaced by deer flies. Joy. Mosquitoes were also abundant.

Comments
Comments: This was a trip mainly to check out the new relocation on SPC which works around a section of WEFT through Rossview Farm which was closed by the landowners in 2019. This puts the route fully on city-owned land. Still a bit unclear if this will carry the WEFT blazes / signs as well and become the permanent route but I'm guessing yes at this point, based on conversations with the city.

Conditions are super dry with hardly any water around. The hike out to Carter Hill was ok, but the return trip kicked my butt due to the heat and oppressive humidity. Not a fan. Nice views of Kearsarge and Ragged from the observation platform at Carter Hill Orchard. Otherwise, this walk is thankfully in shaded woods.
