Great Gulf to Madison was dry. We went to the hut out and back from Star Lake and face coverings were optional (no one wearing to be seen), good water and wish we could have stayed for supper the menu looked wonderful. We went back to Star Lake and Bria needed Parapet for her redlinging efforts so we did it while the guys hit Adams. The trail really needs brushing so tight that the brush/trees are almost enclosing the trail between the scree fields. Trail deserves the bad rap it gets. Took the Osgood Trail up to Madison and we had the summit to ourselves. We went down a short distance back down the Osgood to get out of the wind and have lunch and we didn't have to wait long for the guys to show up. Osgood is beautiful open ridge, summit of Mt. Wash was in and out of the clouds all day but everything else was wide open vista and made the long steep bad footing to the valley belong seem not so tough. Checked out the Osgood campsite, no was was around. |
