Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None of significance today.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few minor stepovers. Trail is scantily blazed, particularly around logging activity. Can be followed right now, but I could see it being a bit confusing with snow on the ground.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitoes were vexing at the parking lot. Mosquitoes and deer flies in the lower elevations. Not too bad higher up, thanks in part to a breeze.

Comments
Comments: Trail initially starts as a road walk (no issues). Logging activity starting at the end of the road walk, with an initial clear cut, then selective cuts all the way up to 1,600 feet. The sign to Waternomee Falls is in place (in the logged area); cross the first (dry) brook to get to the second brook/falls (trickling right now).

Some muck above the falls junction in the logged area. Generally avoidable in dry conditions today, but I can imagine this would be very sloppy after rain. Rocks and roots were slippery higher up due to the humidity, as were the summit ledges. Not much to see, apart from peekaboo views from the tops of rocks/former firetower footings.

Though there are a few blown out sections and a couple of small, greasy ledge scrambles, the footing is generally pretty good for a White Mountain mountain hike.

Lots of logging up to about 1,600 feet. Could be about 400 vertical feet of fairly open tree skiing with a couple of feet of snowpack.

Apart from a family down low around lunch time, we saw only one other hiker the whole morning. Hazy, hot, and humid.
