Fabulous day on the mountains. This was great trail we had it mostly to ourselves and just a few others, so little traffic until the carriage rd heading up to the summit. It was another world on carriage rd heading to the summit with many hikers heading in the opposite direction down to the Snapper trail. The Glencliff trail started dry, but there is running water at all water crossings; couple required walking in the water, but all was low and won't penetrate water proof boots. One woman heading down as we were going up had a bag full of cookies for all the thru hikers, so nice for them. Chatted with a few section hikers as well. Once on carriage rd, there were a few muddy spots that were easy to get around. Summit was full of people including families, but there is so much room for everyone it didn't seem all that crowded. Great to see so many out enjoying the day and getting exercise. |
