Bugs: Ridiculous deer flies that bite! Must be the time of year as Jack from Littleton had the same complaint, hiking nearly the same date several years ago!

Comments
Comments: Walked a short distance down the road where we could avoid a snowmobile trail with waist high grass and enter open woods. Took a heading straight for the peak. Crossed and tried to follow multiple VERY overgrown snowmobile trails which amazingly did not have moose highways so meant pushing our way along like Humphrey Bogart in the African Queen! Eventually found a good heading through open woods which took us almost to the top. Had to manage one more thick grassy area before a short steep climb to the summit. Took awhile to locate the jar as it was on the backside of a tree (for us that is) so might be more visible if approaching from the Big Brook Bog, or northeast or east approach. Signed in and headed back down, finding the snowmobile grass easier to plow through with gravity’s help. Also managed to find a nice, long stretch of open woods. Popped out onto the road just north of our car.
