Comments
Comments: As Beth Z. said, this route was nothing to write home about. Headed directly towards the peak, encountering raspberry bushes, hobble bush, blow downs, and intermittent open woods. The only thing we managed to miss was the swampy area others had to avoid. Once approaching the summit, there are multiple semi-significant bumps prior to reaching the recognized highpoint. We decided to try dropping off to the south, south west to find more open woods. Much better! We stumbled upon a fairly clear logging road that we followed down to a point where it was turning too far south so bushwhacked the last .1 mile through the regrow the areas and popped out on Mt. Pisgah Road near a grassy clearing no more than .5 miles from our car. Might be worth considering driving a little further down the road to achieve more open woods. 150- 200 more gain but a little less work?
