Comments: Fantastic loop hike in Dixville notch state park today. Steep climb to start up the table rock climbing trail but gets you to table rock very quickly. Dry rocks so went out to the edge… views are stunning. Overcast skies but still could see all the surrounding mountains. Went over to middle brother outlook which is very cool. Really get a great view of table rock itself. Three bros trail is very mellow down to the Huntington cascade trail. Cascades were nice but very low in volume. I’m sure is something to see after a steady rain. Short road walk over to baby flume picnic area to the flume brook trail. Water was running fairly decent here. Then up the Sanguinary ridge trail which had multiple outlooks… which gave different angles of the notch as I got higher up the ridge. I could see Old Speck back over into Maine…. This is a very scenic trail with a great footbed. Once I got to the junction where the cohos trail veers north over Sanguinary mountain I continued on the Sanguinary ridge trail but it starts going down here. Great views where it opens up facing table rock across the notch and The Balsams and the pond in front of it. Trail is a little loose down to index rock but very doable. Then it gets steep going down to the road but switchbacks make it pretty easy. Short road walk back to my vehicle. Excellent 4.5 mile loop hike with lots to see, beat the rain ✌🏻
