This is that seemingly little place you always pass by on Rt. 302. Check it out. There is a path around the pond and many spur paths leading from it down to the Saco River. There is a trail leading away from it heading toward Attitash Ski Resort. Many side paths off of this, too. I am not sure if the whole area belongs to Attitash, so I am not sure what the rules are down toward that end (there is a small beach area where the guests go). We briefly walked there and headed back toward the pond. We counted at least 80 tiny toads along the sunny sections of the trail. |
