I hiked this loop with my 8 year old daughter for her #23 and #24. Easy hike (compared to the other 4000 footers). Great day to knock off two more peaks. No bugs at all! We started at 7:40 and finished at 1:30 with taking a long lunch break during the hike. Hancock Notch had standing/running water and mud but it was pretty easily avoided. Poles helped especially on the way down. We went clockwise like others recommended. Great lookout spot at Hancock. Hard to tell where the summit is at South Hancock but figured it out! Nice easy hike! |
