Comments
Comments: Took the scenic route to Chocorua- did not disappoint. Bolles is a real mellow, beautiful hike along a brook with 11 water crossings in first 2 miles, all low and easy. Trail was soaked from rain. trail becomes moderate to climb to HOL, then a steady descent until it flattens out again and reaches Bee Line. Really nice running most of this trail. Bee Line follows a brook much of the way and is also very pleasant. Started raining lightly at Brook trail intersection but let up quickly. Ledges were soaked with water running down them but never seemed sketchy. Bypassed the final, steep, open ledges just to the right like I did a few months ago when they were soaked as well. Westside trail was easy and soaked. Summit had about 10 people on it and very windy but not raining. Stayed about two minutes and headed to the Sisters, which had incredible views. Champney Cutoff and Champney Falls Trails were like rivers with the water flowing down them. Waterfalls were beautiful and full of tourists. walked right up under Pitcher Falls and got a good soaking, which was awesome. Somehow dodged the weather today, which I could see all around us. Incredible cloud action today, and if you haven't been out in the last two weeks the mushrooms are really popping all over the place.
