Cool cloudy windy start. 19 MB great warm up, lots of wet slippery rocks, mud. Carter Dome Trail always seems longer than 1.9 miles. Again more mud. Quick up to South, nice view just before summit. Windy cold here. Over to Lethe then Middle, nice views again less mud. 1st time to North Carter, great view spot just below summit. Can’t believe I’ve missed this before! Lingered here for lunch, beautiful views! Then steep, wet slippery down....wow. Heavy pack as I stayed at Imp, glad I wasn’t going up. Bog bridges were wet slippery, & surprise more mud. Spring hiking after all the rain. North Carter is a gem!Imp Spur for a night here. Windy cool, muddy but no bugs. Nice views from chair at dinner of the Northern Prezis |
