Comments: Walked Roy Road to the hairpin turn thinking we might catch Amy’s snowmobile trail. We found one, a tad muddy, so only followed a short ways before heading towards the peak through fairly open woods. Not so fast! We soon found ourselves going through areas of waist to shoulder high grass and raspberries, tight new growth trees, hobble bush, etc. Luckily there were intermittent tall trees which provided good directional reference points so we could concentrate on just getting through all that stuff! We crossed a number of overgrown trails but none lead very far in our direction. The major plus was the elevation gain was minimal so we weren’t pushing against the overgrowth uphill. We reached the summit area and spotted a herd path that lead us right to the jar which is kind of hidden in a spruce. Going back down we followed our tracks until a nice grassy cut which we were lured into following. Unfortunately as usual this track lead us a bit away from our goal… Fortunately once we realized we were off track, we spied pink tags marking a boundary that lead us back towards the pond. Lo and behold, we managed to stumble on Amy’s snowmobile trail which was grassy but easy walking back to that hairpin turn on Roy Road!
